Google Analytics counts visits; affiliate links are labelled; nothing else tracks you.

Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages are read. It records the page viewed, the time, the site you came from, your type of device and browser, and an approximate location; Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Nothing it records is linked to your name or email address, and the reports are used only to decide what to write and what to fix.

Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies (their names begin _ga) to tell one visit from another. Apart from those, this site sets no cookies and writes nothing to localStorage or sessionStorage. A content blocker, or Google's own opt-out browser add-on, stops it, and every page still works exactly the same.

Affiliate links

There is no advertising on this site. Where a page carries an affiliate link — if you book through one this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you — it is labelled on the page above the first link. Such links appear on planning and transport pages only, and no sight page carries one.

Following an affiliate link does not identify you to this site. The partner you land on has its own privacy policy and its own cookies.

Third-party requests

Pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) and the analytics script from Google (googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com). Those requests reach Google and, like any web request, carry your IP address and browser user-agent.

Server logs

The site is served through Cloudflare and hosted on a shared server, both of which keep ordinary access logs — IP address, time, page requested, user-agent — used only to diagnose faults.

If this changes

Google Analytics has been in place since this site's first day, and this page disclosed affiliate links before any of them appeared. If advertising is ever added, this page will say so before it goes live.
